I always start out looking for the “wow-feeling”. If I test a vase on the table and it’s just nice, it’s a no-go straight away. I don’t want to be bored and then “wow” is a good starting point.

Which are the most momentous tangibles you own? Please tell us their story and why they are special.

If I don’t include my engagement ring it must probably be my coffee set, a gift from my maternal grandmother, who’s not with me today. She told me that in the old days they didn’t drink alcohol at parties, instead they had tea parties. I still haven’t had time for a tea party, but it will happen and then I will use my coffee set, of course.

When do you enjoy yourself the most, before, during or after the party? And why?

Always before if it’s a party at my place! Totally wrong really, but there is something special about the build-up and all the engagement you put in to make everything perfect and lovely, soon to be charming your guests. I run around with curlers in my hair, sipping at a glass of cava, listening to the songs not to be played later and my tummy feels sort of ticklish. Always before a party. If I’m going to one – I want to go there and enjoy it right away.

Which tips can you give us to have more sparkling moments on a rainy boring day midweek?

If you like it, eat charcuterie snacks every day! That is our daily highlight which can be all from less impressive to big and grand. It feels luxurious. And then lighting candles with every meal. We do that at home and if we forget, everything seems grey and gloomy.

Which combination do you love the most when decorating?

Without doubt new and jaunty mixed with old and used. And then I’m a person with a colourful home who loves to combine things which, on paper, don’t match particularly well.

When you look at your interior decorating, how would you describe it? What does it make you feel?

It makes me feel WOW, DO YOU LIVE HERE Henrietta? And I would describe it as confident, playful and modern.

I am proud to always do my own thing and not wanting to be like everyone else. And I sincerely hope that my daughter Billie will be inspired by this.

How do you think when decorating?

I always start out looking for the “wow-feeling”. If I test a vase on the table and it’s just nice, it’s a no-go straight away. I don’t want to be bored and then “wow” is a good starting point. For example, our cloud lamp is one of our best “wow-products”, but also our blue vase from BYON. Wow is a wide concept but clear enough. I also think a lot about the year of construction of the building I live in. Now we live in a functional-style house which means lots of oak, hard and low.

Tips, thoughts, things or persons that make you bubble?

I always bubble inside when I scroll around at Socialite Family. Their home features are to die for. Everybody should follow them at Pinterest:  https://www.pinterest.se/socialitefamily/ and there is nothing I laugh so much about as BÄST I TEST and David Sundin. Really, just the thought makes me giggle out loud while writing this. When I’m answering this question it’s Friday and I am planning the weekend dinners. The tickling feeling of planning a dinner which I will serve later, after a couple of glasses of bubbly, on BYON’s incredible plate! The excitement of planning and starting out from instagram.com/1000smaratter/ all recipes. I know how unbelievably good it will taste, because there is no backing down on spices.

How do you play with colours when decorating?

I normally make a moodboard for the entire home. Now in spring for example we have: oak, black, cream, blue and green, where the blue colour is one of our own which we produced together with Klint the paint dealers. Then I add colours to this in every room and there I usually think that if I have a painting on the wall, I can pick up colours from it in furniture and textiles for example.

Decorating related or not, is there an accomplishment you are extra proud of?

Yes definitely, there are heaps I’m proud of. Below three things that are high and low you could say, haha. I’m proud that I dared to start a tech company in a male-dominated world. More women should get into the business. Check out Off Script – where I have my own e-commerce which I started up in about 7 minutes. I am proud of successfully assembling such a lovely lamp as the one hanging in our inner hall. It took a number of days, some searching and e-mailing to find the best solution, and also some supplementary orders. But in the end ..! I am proud to always do my own thing and not wanting to be like everyone else. And I sincerely hope that my daughter Billie will be inspired by this.
