What does playfulness mean to you and how do you embrace it in your daily life? Is there anything that absolutely can’t be playful - if so, what?

-

Playfulness relieves stress and is a source of creativity. I embrace it every time I arrange flowers or pick up my camera. I think everything can be playful, just stick a couple googly eyes and on it and that's it!

-

Is there a room or project that you are most proud of in your home?

-

I'm most proud of the fact that I managed to make our home look like it is not just another box rental, which it actually is. We could not make any big changes but with some decorating and furniture choices it now has some personality.

-

What is your favorite color vs. least favorite color?

-

My favorite color depends on what the thing is. In clothing my favorite color is black, but in flowers is love I love every color and love to mix as many as possible. If I would have choose a color I don't like, I would maybe say primary colors, like basic ones that are too "pure" ... I love a color with some dirt and personality.

-

What is the most colorful place you have visited?

-

Flower wholesaler maybe, it might have had white walls but I bet you would find every color in the rainbow present there in form of flowers.

-

If you should describe yourself as a flower, which flower would you be and why?

-

I would be a poppy; they have a shell that takes time to open and when it does the frail petals are almost see trough, but the stems stands fire.

-

What is the latest place you visited that gave you interior design inspiration?

-

My workplace. Our office just moved to a new location, and old bank in the city center of Tampere. I love Jugend era buildings, the high ceilings, old radiators etc. And we have green marble floors there!

-

You create wonderful bouquets; do you have any tips for us?

-

Always condition your flowers before arranging them; poppies need the stems to be burned, hydrangeas love to be dipped in boiling water etc. With arranging I would say that don't take it too seriously, let the flowers tell you where they want to go and go with it. Chicken wire and kenzans are my best friends when I arrange flowers.

-

What is your favorite room at home - and why?

-

I love the light that hits our dining space wall in the evenings, so that might be my favorite space. I love to sit down, drink a cup of coffee or tea, and look while the light travels on the wall.

-

What is the first thing your guests usually notice when they come to your home?

-

People seem to be a fan of our little Petra chair and I don't blame them, she is perfect! Most comments I usually get is about my daughter's room or for the number of lamps I have in my home.

-

What is the most playful decoration you have at home - tell its story.

-

I would say maybe a glass cupcake I bought for my daughter. For every birthday I buy her one-of ceramic and glass art pieces from small artists. When she grows up and moves out, she can take every piece with her to her own home. The glass cupcake is a part of Plastic Crush Collection by Orcum Erdem as is one of my daughter's favorites in her collection.

-

We guess you have plenty of vases at home, tell us about your favorite one and why it's the best?

-

I have over 100 vases and it's hard to choose a favorite as i gravitate towards different vases depending on the mood I am in and what flowers I have. In general, I like a vase to have wide opening, it makes it easier to make big arrangements.

-

Decor related or not, is there any achievement in life that you are particularly proud of?

-

There is many, but maybe the biggest ones are sticking it trough and becoming a mom after years of infertility  treatments and when I lost half of my body weight ten years ago.

-

If you had to choose a superpower, what should it be, and why?

-

That is a hard one. I think I would like to be able to grant people happiness. I definitely would not like to see the future or be super fast, life goes by too fast anyway.

-

When you wake up in the morning, what's the first thing you think about?

-

Lately it has been work related and that's not ideal. I usually see quite interesting dreams that are more like movies with a plot and everything. So often when I wake up I think about the dream I saw and how someone with a writer's block would really get good ideas for movie scripts from my dreams.

-

What are your tips for getting more sparkling and colorful moments in the middle of a weekday?

-

Choose items in your home that make you happy. Everyday practical items can also be nice, if it makes your happy, buy the crazy colorful mug with a meme on it and drink out of it even though it doesn't match your other tableware. Or anything else in your home for that matter. And ps. You can buy flowers just because it's Tuesday.

-

Three favorite products from Byon.

-

I have to go with all vases; so Nature, Babbly and Crumple vases. But I also love the Frances tableware.

-

3 quick ones...

-

Favorite mix? In flowers ranunculus and poppies, in decor mixing brass with polished chrome.

What's the last thing you've Googled? "Hedging risk with interest rate swaps" and "what temperature water does Viburnum like".

Describe your home in three words. Warm, cozy and eclectic.
