Emma Widell
Emma Widell is the artist and ceramicist from Malmö who embodies what we at BYON call an “outlaw.” Her creations brim with a strong personality and an inspiring playfulness. In our latest capsule collection, her expressive design language merges with BYON’s passion for colour and form. Do not be misled by what seems obvious—behind every corner lies a hidden treasure.
Emma started painting at a young age and has spent many years devoted to art. During the pandemic, she felt a lack of inspiration and turned to clay to explore her creativity. Two years on, she has fallen in love with the medium, drawing on personal experiences, thoughts, and memories for inspiration. Her art is an extension of herself, where imperfections like scratches, flaws, and small cracks are embraced as intentional elements in each unique piece.
In this collection, we encounter sculptures and shapes once concealed behind facades, now taking centre stage in BYON’s universe. They create an instant sense of personal magic at first glance. Facy Pot
Facy is a bold and expressive pot, just as Byon intends. Inspired by Emma's paintings, it features a face that brings a personal touch to the room. Its large nose and unique form reflect the idea that imperfection is what makes art come alive—something Emma always conveys in her creations. Facy can proudly hold a lush plant or simply stand alone as an intriguing art object. The beige colour and the sturdy stoneware texture offer a warm, tactile sensation that enhances any interior. Facy is available in two sizes.

Patty Pot
Patty is a bold and playful pot that embodies Byon’s spirit more than anything else. When Emma was tasked with creating a collection for Byon, her signature—a zebra motif and stripe pattern—was the natural choice for a strong statement in the home. Zebra stripes and vibrant glazes have long been part of Emma’s artistry, and in Patty, they converge into an expressive fusion of two worlds. The pot is delivered with a saucer equipped with a drainage hole, making it both practical and decorative. Patty is handcrafted in stoneware and is available in two colour options and two sizes.

Muddy Pot
Muddy is a pot with soul and a strong personality, just like Byon itself. Inspired by imperfection and a slightly rough aesthetic, it features a pronounced clay texture beneath the glossy glaze. The raw surface gives the pot an unfinished look that, according to Emma, lends it a unique character and identity. Muddy is vibrant and expressive, making it a striking feature in any home. The pot comes with a raised saucer and includes drainage holes, making it both practical and decorative. Available in two sizes and a range of colours.
